Pakistan test-fires nuclear-capable Hatf-VIII cruise missile


Karachi : Pakistan has successfully tested the indigenously developed Hatf-VIII nuclear capable cruise missile.

The missile has the range of over 350 kilometres, which has enabled Pakistan to achieve strategic standoff capability on land and at sea. The cruise missile with stealth capabilities is a low altitude, terrain hugging missile with high maneuverability and can deliver nuclear and conventional warheads with complete accuracy.

A breakthrough in revival of Cricket ties between Pakistan and India


Lahore : Pakistan expects a breakthrough in a four years deadlock between Pakistan and India cricket as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf and chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed held talks with their counterparts during a visit to India.

“We held positive discussions on the revival of bilateral ties and expect a breakthrough very soon,” Subhan Ahmed told AFP, without confirming reports in Indian and Pakistani media that a short series is expected as early as December-January.

US Must stop 'Carpet bombing' of Pakistan, Bilawal



PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said US drone attacks were turning out to be counter-productive due to the civilian toll they take. 

The leader-in-waiting of Pakistan's ruling party called for an end to the US drone attacks, which he said were a violation of his country's sovereignty and international law.

Islamabad : Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani will not appeal against his conviction by supreme court of Pakistan for contempt.

Talking to the media, the lawyer of Prime Minister barrister Mr Eatezaz Ahsan, said that after reviewing aspects of the case Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza had decided not to forward the disqualification reference against the prime minister to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Russia test fires IBM which could penetrate US Missile Defenses Shield


Moscow: Russian Defense Ministry said that it has successfully test-fired a new intercontinental ballistic missile (IBM) with an enhanced capability to penetrate missile defenses shield. 

With out giving the missile any name, Russian Defence ministry said that the missile has successfully reached a designated target at a range on the far eastern Kamchatka Peninsula. 

Pakistan Beats Argentina 4-2 in Azlanshah Hockey match


Malaysia : Pakistan's new build hockey team has beaten Argentina by 4-2 goals in their opening match of Azlan Shah hockey tournament.

Captain Sohail Abbas, Haseem Khan, Irafan and Waqas scored one goal each.

Fire erupts on-board a US Nuclear Submarine


Miami : A US Nuclear Submarine comes under fire while docked at shipyard according to media reports, it is reported that fire is still burning inside the Nuclear submarine.

A spokesman said that all crew have been rescued and its nuclear plant was "shut off".

Turkish PM tries to mend ties between Pakistan opposition and government


Islamabad: Turkish Prime Minister Tayyeb Erdogan strives to mend ties between strained Pakistani government and opposition led by PML'N'.

Turkish PM wished same 'solidarity and cooperation' between government and opposition when he visited four years ago. He said, “If I say this ceiling is white, our opposition would say it is black". 

Firing at Sindh Etehad Rally, more than 11 people killed

 
Karachi : More than 11 people killed and  32 people wounded after terrorist open fired on a joint rally in the name of "Mohabbat Sindh". Firing took place near Lee Market area and spread over in all Karachi.

The rally was planned by nationalist of Sindh and Baloch leaders along with Layari people and ANP, in support of united Sindh and against recent wall chalking of "Mohajir province" in Sindh.

Sindh Government acts against Mohajir Province wall chalking


Karachi : Sindh government has taken serious action against the wall-chalking and posters of the ‘Mohajir Province’ movement as the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah held meetings with Director General of Rangers, Major General Rizwan and Sindh’s Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Shah.

Talks between Zardari and Nato chief cancelled


Chicago : Planned talks between Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Nato chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen has cancelled due to Pakistani leader's plane was delayed. 

“This cancellation is due to a scheduling problem,” said Nato spokeswoman Carmen Romero, on the eve of a two-day Nato summit being held in Chicago.

Dr Samar Mubarakmand's Thar Coal Project


Karachi : Pakistan's leading nuclear scientist Dr Samar Mubarakmand has said that four more wells of the Thar coal project had been set on fire and as a result gas production from these would begin from next week. 

A flame would be lit from gas as emissions begin from these wells towards the end of May.

Taliban Attack Kills Two Nato Soldiers in Afghanistan


KABUL: At least two soldiers were killed after Taliban attack on a Nato base in the eastern Afghan province of Kunar and wounded six, a local spokesman for Nato’s International Security Assistance Force said. 

The attack came a day after gunmen dressed in Afghan police uniforms and wearing suicide vests stormed a government compound in the southwestern province of Farah, killing seven people and wounding 12 others.

Pakistan to Get One $ 1 Million Per Day for Nato Supplies


Karachi : According to foreign media reports United States is to pay Pakistan close to one million dollars a day, once the transportation of supplies to Nato forces in Afghanistan is reopened.

According to a Christian Science Monitor report, the US will pay Pakistan $1,500 to $1,800 for each truck that transports supplies to its troops across the border.

Obama Supports Gay Marriage



Washington : As American politics is warming up with coming election, Barrack Obama has put up a gambling step to warm his campaign by supporting gay marriage. 

In an interview to ABC news channel which sparked a seismic wave through out the world Mr Barack Obama said, “I’ve just concluded, for me, personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married,”Obama said, unveiling his bombshell.

Underwear 'bomber' was a CIA double agent


Washington: The Underwear would-be bomber which was sent by al-Qa'ida's affiliate in Yemen to blow up a passenger jet bound for US has been revealed to be a double agent working for Saudi Arabia in co-operation with the CIA.

According to US officials, the agent infiltrated the Yemen-based al-Qa'ida and had been given an improved version of the plastic-explosive device found in a terrorist's underwear that was meant to be detonated on a flight arriving in Detroit on Christmas Day 2009.

Karachi : Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik, now known as "Boosting Malik", declared on Thursday that the operations against the Lyari gang war will not be stopped at any cost and Lyari has become the sanctuary of Taliban, BLA, Alqaeda, and different gang war groups.

Rehman Malik told media that, "We have acquired modern satellite technology to locate the terrorists and have hired four helicopters to assist the police in operation."

Aisam Qureshi wins Estoril title with his Dutch Partner


KARACHI: Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer has defeated Juilan Knowle and David Marrero to win the doubles final of the Estoril Open. 

Aisam-ul Haq Qureshi and Rojer beat the Aussie-Spanish pair 7-5, 7-5. 

Pakistani-Dutch pair was reached in finals by defeating the French duo of Richard Gasquet and Roger Vasseln.

Sydney: A couple was noticed in Sydney while having open sex in historic clock tower located opposite the bustling Broadway Shopping Center in Sydney as shoppers and passers took notice of a very strange phenomenon.

NAJAF: A 25-year-old Iraqi, Hussein al-Kharsan, aims to writes the longest copy of the Qur'an in the world with a traditional wood and feather pen.

Hussein says the scroll is to be between 5,500 and 6,000 meters long and his aim is to set a Guinness World Record. 

US Military Court Accuses Khalid Sheikh of Sep 11 Attacks


Guantanamo Bay : Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, which is claimed to be the mastermind of the Sept 11 attacks repeatedly declined to answer a judge’s questions on Saturday and his co-defendants knelt in prayer in what appeared to be a concerted protest against the military proceedings. 

Sheikh Khalid Mohammed and his co-defendants took off the earphones that provided Arabic translations and refused to answer any questions from the judge, Army Col James Pohl, dramatically slowing a hearing that is heavy on military legal procedure.
